When & Where?
February Half Term 2018
Monday 19th February to Thursday 22nd February 2018
10am - 1pm daily
Bishop Milner Catholic School
What the week consists of?
Each course is 4 days long and consists of 3 hours of training per day. Within the course we focus on the following aspects to help improve a player’s game:
1. Individual technical ability
2. Match play
3. 1 v 1 match situations
4. Individual skill based testing
There will be a short snack break during the day for children to replenish their energy stores ready for match play after lunch!
Presentation – On the final day there is a small presentation from 12.40pm. Throughout the week coaches will observe the players progression and an award for ‘Player of the Week’ is given to a player from each group and also a ‘Most Improved Player of the Week’ is awarded to a player from each group. However, every single player that attends a course will get a personally addressed certificate of completion and congratulation.
**All new players attending the holiday courses are guaranteed a place at our evening sessions should they wish to join us.**
We find that each child benefits significantly from attending our courses due to training everyday for 3 hours. We can relate this to the training programme of a professional footballer. Numbers are always consistently good.
Plenty of (non fizzy) drinks & a packed lunch each day
Clothing which is suitable for all weather conditions and for playing football in & plastic moulded boots or astro turf trainers.
This Summer saw the fourth of our Development carried out by Midland Futsal Academy and what a fantastic time it proved to be.
A hugely impressive total of 200 players of differing abilities, ages, and footballing backgrounds attended the courses at Bishop Milner School, Dudley, Redhill School, Stourbridge and the Dell Stadium. All of which played a significant role in making each week a memorable one.
Players were divided into several groups depending on ability and the stage of footballing development. The main basis of their training focused around the technical aspect of the game revolving around ball mastery and becoming comfortable with the ball regardless of the situation. However, players further into their footballing development experienced different training techniques from their coaches expanding out into team methodology components through high intense well-structured gameplay exercises.
This Course was memorable due to the amazing quality, commitment, attitude and general football each group produced.
Every single child every week in every single group applied themselves to the best of their abilities with a number excelling, not only in a footballing aspect but also as people socialising with others and becoming more confident as the week progressed.
Well done to everyone who attended, it truly was an excellent showcase of your footballing talents and hopefully this has given a number of you the desire and hunger to continue to progress and strive to achieve the best results possible next season.
Can I also add a big massive thank you to all my coaches who helped during the week and also all parent and relatives for your support during the courses.
Regards, Richard Newell - Head of Midland Futsal Academy
